Explore Dallas | Psychedelic Robot 2.0

UPDATE:
This post was written just before COVID-19 lockdown in Dallas.

With so many art installations opening and re-opening in Dallas, it’s hard to keep up with them all. But is it worth it? (see related post here)

I was lucky enough to be one of the few selected to preview Psychedelic Robot 2.0 before its grand opening at the Bivins Gallery — located inside The Crescent in Uptown. (I emphasize inside cuz my Uber driver and I got lost.)

I never got to go to the first installation, so I was excited to see what they had to offer this year!

Verdict? Overhyped. Also, a lot smaller than I envisioned. Yes, the art installations were attention grabbing, neon-lit, and of course, insta-worthy. But that was it for me. The previous one looked a lot better, from photos anyway.

It really was great for photo ops, which is what I did the majority of the time —aside from drinking unlimited Corona Hard Seltzer they offered (perks of the preview). But not enough for me to me like, “Holy shit. Y’all. You have to go!” 🤷🏻‍♀️

In conclusion: Save your time and money (cuz it’s not free to public) and just check it out below! [update: also, you know, the pandemic]

— And then, maybe just plan a trip to the Perot or Dallas Museum of Art. 😘
