…in my current playlist

Oh, we’re in May? My bad. You know, life. Anyway, I added a lot more since I skipped a couple weeks or whatever.

These artists have been in my rotation for awhile now, so be sure to check out more from them than I feature(!!!).

First up:

Lee Fields & The Expressions

I am currently obsessed with Lee Fields — so much SOUL! And I think it’s what motivated the vibes of my playlist this go around. As you’ll be able to tell once you read on…

“Never Be Another You”

“Wish You Were Here”

“All I Need“

Also recommend:

Charles Bradley 🙌

STARTER SONGS:
Stay Away” (Nirvana Tribute) | ”Changes

Lapalux

Lapalux was introduced to me by a a friend that has similar music taste as me. I could not believe I hadn’t heard of him sooner! Producer Stuart Howard’s (aka Lapalux) music is hard to explain. . .

. . . Let’s go with “abstract electronic music” — in that can go from simply ambient to incorporating hip-hop and R&B. Beautifully blended✨

“Don’t Mean A Thing“

"Straight Over My Head"

“1004”

Crazy P

I found Crazy P (formerly Crazy Penis) through Midnight Magic’s radio. And SO GLAD I DID! You know I love artists with that groovy disco sound, and they give me just that, with some added funk, soul and deep house in the mix. 👌🏻F*cking love it!

“The Witness”

“There’s A Better Place”

“Cruel Mistress”

Also recommend:

Glass Candy

STARTER SONGS:
Candy Castle” | ”Rolling Down The Hills

MORE JAM:

  • Shabazz PalacesAre you.. Can you… Were you? (Felt)

    • ITS’ A FEELING✨ …like, for real.

  • SamphaCan’t Get Close

    • Sampha’s album Process is ALL THE FEELS. And recently, this song just hit 🎯

Check out Plastic 100°C — it’s the first song I heard that made me a fan of his.

  • Melody’s Echo ChamberSome Time Alone, Alone

    • SO GOOD. Melody’s Echo Chamber is the perfect music to chill and groove to. Melody Prochet’s soft, sweet voice over psych-pop sounds is just perfection.

      • #funfact: Her 2012 self-titled debut album was produced by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker! And they also dated. Now play that song back!

  • The Juan MacleanRunning Back To You(feat. Nancy Whang)

    • I honestly can not get this song out of my head. Listen to it once, and you’ll feel me. It’s produced so well and catchy af. Very 80’s synth pop. 👾

  • B77Child

    • The production on this is just…✨ This is just a great feel good track. If you dig it, peep more of B77’s music! (Like “Fleur” & “Beach 77”)

  • Parov StelarAll Night

    • YASSSSSSSS …that’s all I have to say about this track 💃🏻Guaranteed to get you movin’!

Other great Parov Stelar tracks: My Man“ *Denzel voice* JKJK! (features Lightnin’s Hopkins) & “Booty Swing“ (you should recognize this one from commercials years ago). His style is very jazz/house/electro.

  • xxyyxxAbout You

    • Such great chill track. Like, go be productive and just play this in the background. You’ll get it. 🙏🏻Oh! And SZA’s "Childs Play" (feat. Chance the Rapper) sampled this track! xxyyxx’s is still better.

      Also recommend: Fields

  • Jonwayne — “Trilla G

    • Great lo-fi hip-hop track. I found Jonwayne randomly, so don’t know much about him but that his beats/mixes are fire. And apparently he also raps!

Also recommend: “The Come Up pt. 2”

  • Choo JacksonCamo

  • Gucci Mane Walk

    • Gotta keep ya’ll on y’alls toes!🚶🏻‍♀️
